Resilience is our strength to overcome daily challenges by using the ability to regulate our emotions and meanings in the face of all that occurs. But how to do this with the little ones, if even for adults it is difficult to work on resilience? With imagination, stories and phrases of resilience for children.

Resilience is like a bamboo that bends in the face of a strong wind, but does not break, returning to its normal position after the storm.

It is an ability that we develop throughout life, but if worked on from the earliest years of life, it can be easier to awaken this force that we all have within us. In this way, children can grow up knowing how to give meaning to the events around them.

How to work resilience with children

I suggest, first, using your imagination. Second, not putting unnecessary burdens on the obstacles, but seeing them as stimuli for the child's cognitive and emotional development.

For this, you can use stories of overcoming and inspirational phrases that will serve as an instigation for further action.

By reacting positively to life's adversities, children will grow more confident in their abilities. If you need help, you can count on me (schedule an appointment here) and on the Brain Gym®, Positive Emotional Education, Reiki, and Flower Therapy tools.

The suggestion is to fix these comics on the wall of the room, beside the bed, next to the study area, or wherever you think is best and can be accessed when needed.

When creating your sentences or expressions try to put them in positive language and avoid words like "no" or negative. The brain ignores the "no" and fixates on the words. By choosing stimulating terms you can have greater results.

Guided meditation is a powerful tool in this process. Here is a meditation for parents and children to better deal with emotions.

Be an example of resilience for children

To be resilient is to believe in your own potential. You may even fall down, but get up stronger.

It is showing the child that even if he thinks he made a mistake, he can start again and in a new occurrence act differently. New opportunities will arise.

Awaken the detective or scientist within the child and yourself, seeking healthy solutions to life's challenging events. Everything can be lighter if faced in a playful way.

Teach, for example, that it is important to look at situations that once seemed like a storm and remember that after they pass, there comes a bright sun.

That it depends on the way you face and act in each situation, and not on the situation itself. That is where the power to overcome challenges comes from.

When children learn from an early age that they can handle life situations in a more conscious and lighter way, they will carry this conditioning into their mature life and, consequently, they will be emotionally healthier adults.
